Prayer Center atWay Of the Wolf"Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy burdened and I will give you rest." Across the world there are designated places for rest, re-creation and re-connection.. Along with Way of the Wolf, many of these locations are part of the International Quiet Garden Trust. We have dreamed about and discussed the possibility of creating a site for meditation and contemplative prayer for many years. This dream has now unfolded in the construction of a log and stone prayer center here at Way Of the Wolf Retreats. Perhaps the impetus for the chapel, or center for prayer, began with our intentional spiritual journey about 25 years ago. A trip to Stoke Poges, Bucks, England, and a workshop on Celtic Spirituality with Esther deWaal and the Rev. Phillip Roderick, founder of IQGT, are identifiable influences on the direction of this journey. As you view the following pictures, please note that this sacred space holds dearly, but lightly, Christian, Celtic Christian and Native American Spirituality. A center for prayer is to be another expression for the celebration of life that we desire to share with fellow pilgrims.
The design also allows for an altar at standard height (shown) or one at knelling meditation height.
This site is comfortable for about 30-40 participants when used as group prayer or contemplative space. Come see if you can spot the sacred architecture incorporated into this special space.
This long porch offers adequate space to be in tune with the natural gifts that surround this site. Deer, turkey, rabbits and a host of other animals share this spot with those who come to rest and play.

In 1995, they attended a Celtic Exploration workshop in Oxford, England, with Esther deWaal, Internationally known author and follower of the Benedictine Way. This experience resulted in their affiliation with the International Quiet Garden Trust in Stoke Poges, England. Instructed quiet days are offered periodically using the Quiet Garden format. In July ,2001 they made a pilgrimage to many centers of Welsh Celtic Spirituality.
"This was an ideal place for our silent retreat --lots of comfortable, peaceful spaces to read, write, contemplate, walk etc. It seemed that everything we needed was here......your breakfasts were delicious and your cooperation and understanding in keeping with our silence was great." ---Bizy
