Restored Amish Corn Crib Gets New LifeThe Amish corn crib spent its first 150 years in North East Ohio serving many tasks including storage for corn. It was carefully disassembled and moved to its resurrections site here in the Texas hill country. All the timber frames were cataloged and numbered for accurate reconstruction. This log and timber B&B provide all the ambiance of the most intimate Texas log cabin.
Reconstruction tasks were many, including raising the height to accommodate a second floor. The outside barn boards were planed and used inside, as the barn got a new suit of clothes (stucco) on the outside. Two full baths were added in the addition. The barn now has two separate units, each with full bath and mini kitchen and porch. The two units can be easily shared by a small group of family or friends.
